🐊🧡💙 GATOR ATHLETE OF THE WEEK | CARISSA SMITH 💙🧡🐊 Some athletes make an impact through their stats. Others make an impact through their leadership, character, and the way they lift up those around them. This week's Gator Athlete of the Week embodies ALL of that and so much more! Congratulations to Carissa Smith, a member of our Varsity Cross Country and Cheerleading programs, and our newly crowned Miss Greenbrier 2026! 👑 Carissa is the definition of a servant leader. Whether she's competing on the cross country course, cheering on the sidelines, or simply encouraging those around her, she consistently leads with a contagious smile, a positive attitude, and a heart that puts Christ first. This past week was a perfect example of the young lady Carissa is. Between competing in cross country, participating in Homecoming Court, and being crowned Miss Greenbrier 2026, she still made it a priority to show up, put on her cheer uniform, and support her teammates from the sidelines! 📣🏃‍♀️ THAT is what being a Gator is all about! 🐊 Being an exceptional student-athlete isn't always measured by points scored, records broken, or medals earned. Sometimes, the greatest impact comes from the way you serve others, the example you set, and the light you shine when no one is keeping score. 🐊🔥 ANOTHER BUSY WEEK IN GATOR NATION! 🔥🐊 Homecoming may be behind us, but there’s NO SLOWING DOWN for GCA Athletics! 💙🧡 We’ve got a packed three days of competition ahead with our Gators hitting the court, field, course — and even Danny Moore Field under the lights! 🏐 MONDAY gets us started with a Volleyball tripleheader on the road at StoneBridge! Meanwhile, back at GCA, our future Gators take center stage for Little Gators Baseball & Softball Under the Lights at 5:00 PM! ⚾🥎✨ Come out and cheer on the next generation of Gators! 🏐🏈 TUESDAY keeps the action rolling as Middle School and Varsity Volleyball travel to Gateway Christian, while Middle School Football hits the road to take on West End Christian! 🔥 THURSDAY is LOADED! We’ve got the Homecoming Parade, Homecoming Court, halftime festivities, Gator Nation packed in the stands, and a full night of Friday Night Lights! GCA STUDENTS — SHOW UP. GET LOUD. 💗🏐 DIG PINK NIGHT — PLAYING FOR SOMETHING BIGGER 🏐💗 What an AMAZING night at The Swamp as the GCA Volleyball Program hosted our 2nd Annual Dig Pink Night, honoring those who have courageously battled breast cancer, those still fighting, and the families walking alongside them with unshakable faith and relentless strength. The generosity shown by our GCA and Atlantic Shores communities was incredible! Together, we raised nearly $1,200 for the cause! 💕 Our goal is to reach $1,500, and we will continue accepting donations through the weekend. 🐊🔥 IT’S HOMECOMING WEEK IN GATOR NATION! 🔥🐊 Get ready, Gators — this is one of the BIGGEST and BUSIEST weeks of the year! 💙🧡 From packed gyms and cross country trails to Dig Pink Night and Homecoming Friday Night Lights, there is something happening all week long! 🏐 We kick things off Tuesday with a full night of Gator Volleyball at The Swamp against Hampton Christian! 🏃 Wednesday, Cross Country hits the trails at York River State Park for the Walsingham Invitational! 🩷 Then Thursday, THE SWAMP TURNS PINK! 🩷 Our Volleyball program hosts its 2nd Annual DIG PINK NIGHT as Middle School, JV, and Varsity take on Atlantic Shores Christian. This night is about so much more than volleyball as we come together as a GCA family to raise awareness for breast cancer, honor those who have fought, remember those we have lost, and stand beside those who are still fighting. WEAR YOUR PINK and PACK THE GYM! 🎀 🏈 Middle School Football also takes the field Thursday at 5:00 PM against Southampton Academy!
