Open enrollment will open on February 19th for new families wishing to begin the admissions process for the 24/25 school year.
ADMISSIONS PROCEDURES
Admission to GCA is determined pursuant to the receipt of a completed online application packet, admission testing, review of previous academic history and discipline record, and a family interview with the divisional administrator.
How to Apply
Applying is easy using our Online Application. Applying online simplifies submission and provides parents a tool for tracking online the status of their admission after the application has been submitted.
Step 1: Create an Online Application
Click Here to begin your application now!
Begin by creating an account. Then log in to your account and Create a New Student Application for your child. You will then have the flexibility to log in and out of your account and access your open application as needed.
Step 2: Submit Online Application
After you have completed the online application, the Submit Application and Make Payment form will appear. The required non-refundable application/testing fee for each student is due upon submission of the online application. After submitting the application, you will be able to track your admissions status by logging in to your account. There you will be able to print the completed applications, monitor when the school receives supplemental application forms, and, if necessary, reprint the supplemental forms.
Step 3: Evaluation
Each new kindergarten through twelfth grade student is required to take an entrance examination which is a combination aptitude achievement test. Additional testing may be requested for classroom placement in math, grammar, and foreign language.
If testing results suggest questions concerning academic success or progress of a student, the application and test results are reviewed by the STEP Coordinator and Admissions Committee to determine placement, intervention possibilities, and final determination in relation to student acceptance.
Step 4: Acceptance
An interview is conducted with all families applying for admission. Preschool through fifth grade students are not required to attend the interview.
After review of each application and interview, parents will be notified of the Admission Committee's decision regarding admittance.
At least one parent is required to attend the Back to School Orientation held in August. All necessary communication such as classroom assignment, athletic calendars, etc. will be provided online or by mail prior to the beginning of school.
