CURRICULUM

GCA seeks to minister to twelve week old students through the 12th grade in a distinctly Christian environment.

The Beginnings Academy believes that children are a gift from God and should be educated in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment according to scriptural precepts. Early childhood education is a critical time in the development of a child's perception of self, others, the world, and God. The emphasis of the curriculum is to stimulate the child's physical, mental, emotional, and social development while maintaining a strong spiritual emphasis. Our facility was specifically designed for this age group and includes two large indoor playgrounds. Instructors hold ACSI Early Childhood Certificates or ACSI Teacher Certificates.

The academic programs for the Foundations Academy, Junior Collegiate, and Collegiate Academies are biblically-integrated and designed to prepare the student to perform well in subsequent educational settings, to equip them to be productive members of society, to fulfill God's will for their lives, and to do so with a well-established biblical worldview. Diverse resources and materials are used to accomplish advanced objectives in each discipline of study.

STEP (Successful Techniques for Educational Progress) is a specialized learning program designed to meet the needs of students with educational differences. Language therapy, resource instruction, individualized tutoring, or accountability classes are available.

The faculty and staff of Greenbrier Christian Academy represent a variety of personal and professional backgrounds. All have professed their faith in Jesus Christ and have demonstrated a lifestyle in harmony with the Bible. All of the faculty members are degreed; many hold master's degrees or higher credentialing. The entire faculty is certified by ACSI, and many hold additional state licensure from Virginia or other states.
