Purpose Statement

The purpose of science instruction at Greenbrier Christian Academy is to equip students to defend the Christian faith against those who falsely use science to disprove the sovereignty of God. With the Word of God as our guide we will lead students into an appreciation of the world God created. Students will discover order and relationships utilizing analytical thinking, objective inquiry, and technology. Through hands-on experimentation the scientific method will be taught. As a result, the students will know the Creator as a God of purpose, order, and design. The accepted truth underlying the science curriculum is explained in Genesis 1:1. Students will be nurtured to develop an appreciation for God’s creation and a responsibility to maintain and protect it. Through inductive and deductive processes, the students are encouraged to think independently, critically, and logically with application to all content areas.
